Chapel of La Victoria

Evidence of the first hermits reaching Alcúdia dates back to the negginig of the 14th century. They stayed at the Talaia. Since then the site has been used intermittently as a place of worship.
The present construction, which still brings back memories of it’s defensive purposes, dates back to 1679. It has a Baroque nave, covered by a ribbed vault, with a Baroque altarpiece room where the image of la Mare de Dèu de la Victòria is worshipped.

The image is a 15th century polychromed carving which was probably brought by Fra Diego, a hermit who stayed in the area in the 15th century. The chapel is located in a privileged setting with views over the Bay of Pollenca.
